FAQ

Bold Baby Cot

What safety standards does the Bold Baby cot meet?

The Bold Baby Cot has been tested to:

  • AS/NZS 2172:2013 – Cots for household use, safety requirements
  • AS/NZS ISO 8124 Part 3: 2021 + A1:2023 – Toxic elements in paints and inks
  • Consumer Goods (Infant Sleep Products) Safety Standard 2024 (as amended February 2025) – the mandatory standard for household cots, which calls up AS/NZS 2172:2013
  • Consumer Goods (Infant Products) Information Standard 2024 – labelling and product information

Testing carried out by Bureau Veritas, Intertek, the National Measurement Institute and Furntech-AFRDI. See the reports.

What are the dimensions of the cot?

Length - 143cm

Width - 77cm

Height - 83.4cm (when legs are at highest setting)

Is a mattress included?

Bold Baby Cot does not include a mattress but mattresses must comply with the following dimensions to meet safety standards.

Length: 132 cm
Width: 70 cm
Max Depth: 11cm

When purchasing a mattress make sure it meets the latest Australian and international safety standards.

ISO 23767:2021

How many panels are included with the cot?

Every cot comes with four double-sided panels: two colour panels in your chosen colourway, and two pattern panels — polkadot on one side, pegboard on the other. There are six colourways to choose from, and sixteen ways to configure one cot.

What materials is the cot made from?
  1. Bold Baby Cots frame and legs are made from sustainably grown German Beechwood.
  2. The painted panels are made from fibreboard, the natural wood panels are made from fibreboard with a Beechwood veneer
  3. The slats that run horizontally on the mattress base are LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber), chosen because it's up to 2.5 times stronger than normal lumber. Perfect for supporting jumping toddlers.
Does the Bold Baby Cot convert to a toddler bed?

Yes. The cot converts to a toddler bed without needing a toddler rail, so there's nothing else to buy. Most children make the move somewhere between 18 months and 3 years, though every child is different.

We're developing an optional toddler rail for parents who want one. It will be made to order and available through our website.

Can you use bumpers or sleep pods with Bold Baby cot?

Bold Baby advises against using cot bumpers, baby sleeping pods or nests, rolled up towels, or any soft items on the mattress. The safest sleeping environment for your baby is a clear, flat, separate sleep space of their own. All cushions and loose fabrics / toys should be removed before putting your baby to bed.

Does Bold Baby cot come assembled?

The Bold Baby cot will arrive as a flat pack and therefore requires assembly. We have designed the cot to make it as simple as possible to put together with the help of our easy to follow instruction manual.

Why does the look of the timber / wooden panels in my cot differ from how they look on the website?

As detailed on our website, Bold Baby embraces nature's uniqueness, which means our wooden panels reflect the distinct character and quirks inherent in natural timber products. Therefore, there will be variations from one cot to the next in wood grain and colour. However the high quality of the panels remains consistent throughout.

How do I care for my Bold Baby cot?

Due to its finish, marks will usually wipe off easily with a damp cloth. Dip a soft cloth in warm water with a mild soap or detergent and wipe gently. Do not wipe harshly over painted panels to ensure the finish remains intact.

Where can I get spare parts?

If your cot arrived and is missing any parts please contact us at support@bold.baby and we will do our best to assist you.

Shipping and Delivery

What is the shipping policy?

Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that our fulfillment team has received your order. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive an email notification with your tracking information. Shipping fees are non-refundable in the case of returns.

Where do you ship to?

We ship to all Australian states and territories. Delivery is free to metro areas, and costs for regional and rural addresses are calculated at checkout. Time frames vary by destination.

We do not currently ship outside Australia.

How long will my cot delivery take to get to me?

Australia's a big place, so timeframes vary with distance. Orders are usually dispatched from our Sydney warehouse within 2 to 3 business days, and most deliveries arrive within 10 business days of dispatch. You'll receive a tracking link by email once your order is on its way.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is free to metro areas across Australia. For regional and rural addresses, costs are calculated at checkout based on your location.

Can I collect the cot directly from the Sydney warehouse?

We are not able to facilitate direct collections from our warehouse, therefore your cot will arrive via courier only.

Will the courier deliver the cot to a room inside my home?

Deliveries are made by third party carriers. Couriers are only required to deliver items to the front door of your property. This is due to an increased risk to personal health associated with indoor deliveries.

For multi story apartment buildings, the delivery person/s is only required to deliver to the ground floor of the building. You may request they take the item/s to your floor if your building has lift access, but ultimately it is up to the delivery person to follow their company's policy regarding where they are permitted to leave your goods.

Bold Baby Cot is a heavy item - 43kg. It is recommended two people lift and assemble the cot. Under no circumstances should pregnant women attempt to lift and move the Bold Baby Cot Carton.

Purchasing

Where can I buy the Bold Baby Cot?

You can buy direct from us at bold.baby, and online from Myer, Baby Bunting, The Memo and Kiddie Country. To see one in person, Baby Little Planet stocks the Bold Baby Cot in store.

Buying direct is the only way to get the Art Series and new releases first.

What is a pre-order?

A pre-order is a cot that’s available to buy on our website, but is not currently in stock. This will usually mean that the cots are in transit and on their way to our Sydney warehouse, soon to be ready for despatch.

When you make a pre-order, you will be given an estimated delivery range indicating when the goods are expected to arrive at our Sydney warehouse.

Please note that sometimes there can be unforeseen delays with international shipping. These delays are outside of our control but we will do our best to deliver within an acceptable time frame and keep customers updated should their goods be delayed for any reason.

Refunds & Returns

Can I return the cot if I change my mind?

Yes, we accept change-of-mind returns on unopened cots within 100 days of delivery. The cot needs to be unused, in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Return shipping is at your cost and a 20% restocking fee may apply.

Once a cot has been opened we can't accept a change-of-mind return.

None of this affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If your cot arrives damaged or faulty, contact us at support@bold.baby and we'll sort it immediately. See our Refund Policy for full details.
